Deep beneath the storm-belts of the Sky Wastes roams a creature older than most recorded eras. When the first atmospheric engines were built to stabilize the Alphaverse’s skies, their creators believed lightning was merely weather — uncontrolled energy wandering aimlessly through the clouds. They were wrong. The storms were not random. They were following something.
Voltusk was born when the planet’s natural electrical currents gained consciousness. Every strike of lightning, every static charge in the air, and every magnetic disturbance slowly accumulated into a living form. Over centuries the storms gathered around a single roaming nucleus of power until a body finally took shape — a colossal beast formed from condensed thunder and living metal. Where he walks, gravity trembles and the air itself hums.
Unlike other monsters of raw power, Voltusk is not destructive by intention. He is territorial. He instinctively patrols the skies, drawn to abnormal energy sources. Artificial reactors, overcharged relics, and unstable Mythic abilities attract him from hundreds of miles away. The moment he senses imbalance, thunderheads gather without warning and the ground begins to vibrate. Moments later, Voltusk descends with a deafening shockwave, not to conquer… but to discharge excess power back into the world.
Many civilizations have mistaken his arrival for divine punishment. Entire war machines have shut down the instant he approached. Energy-based monsters find their abilities overloaded or shorted entirely in his presence. The truth is simple: Voltusk does not attack out of anger — he is a living regulator of energy. To him, hoarded power is a threat to the world’s stability.
Because Voltusk does not create storms.
He is the storm’s intelligence.
