Before the Alphaverse had borders, before kingdoms and eras were named, there were regions where reality simply failed to hold together. These places were not darkness and not void — they were absence. Magic could not activate there. Time could not advance there. Even thoughts and memories struggled to persist within their reach. The Ancients feared these anomalies more than any Titan, because nothing could defeat them… they did not destroy, they erased.
To contain these fractures, the Architects forged a single guardian, a being not born from life, element, or spirit. They bound together collapsed timelines, broken spells, and abandoned dimensions and forced them into a stable consciousness. Then they gave him one purpose: stand between existence and nothingness. That construct became Nullwarden.
Nullwarden does not perceive the world as other monsters do. He senses instability — paradoxes, uncontrolled energies, and beings whose very presence strains the structure of reality. Whenever an era gives rise to power that grows beyond control, he manifests at its edges. Magic weakens near him. Relics fall silent. Even Mythics feel their abilities falter in his presence. He does not fight out of rage or morality; he corrects. To Nullwarden, erasure is not cruelty — it is repair.
Some monsters worship him as a cosmic judge. Others fear him as a warden who seals creatures into the silent non-place housed within his core. The truth is more unsettling: Nullwarden was never created to protect monsters.
He was created to protect reality from them.
